I can't imagine a better person or a more qualified candidate to replace Sheriff Mark Owen than Major Erik Holland, and I wholeheartedly endorse his candidacy for Platte County Sheriff."

Erik Holland is the right man for this critical job. No one is better  prepared to lead the Platte County Sheriff's Office. Erik and I first worked together more than 20 years ago when he was a detective and I was an assistant prosecutor. I look forward to working with him for years to come while he is the sheriff and I am a county commissioner. 

Erik Holland has earned my endorsement for Platte County Sheriff. He has been working hard since 1999 to keep Platte County families and businesses safe, he will continue that work as our Sheriff. Erik is a deeply respected law-enforcement professional and an excellent leader. We have worked closely together to bring violent and sex offenders to justice and to protect our community from car thieves, drug dealers, and every other sort of criminal. Over his decades of service, Erik has overseen every aspect of the Sheriff’s Department, led law enforcement operations in multiple critical incidents, and implemented innovative ideas to improve public safety. He has also drafted legislation to make Platte Countians safer, improving the quality of life for all of us. Erik is constantly looking for ways to make the Sheriff’s Department even better so that we can hold criminals accountable. In addition to taking the hard line against dangerous criminals, Erik has worked to improve the prospects of nonviolent offenders who will return to our community. For example, he brought a high school diploma program to the Platte County Jail at no cost to taxpayers or inmates. Erik has worked tirelessly for years to protect Platte County, and we need him to continue that important work as our Sheriff. I’ve worked closely with Erik for many years,

and I trust him to keep our community safe. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Erik Holland for Sheriff.
